About Me

I’m a middle-aged, married Melbourne woman. On the spur of the moment, on 21 May, 2009, I decided to take a solo holiday in the UK. I left on 2 June planning to return when I’d found myself or the money ran out. I’m not sure I ever did find myself, but I stayed away four months.

Armed with a first generation iPhone, and a Livejournal account, I began to take photos and blog. Many people ask me how I managed it. Others ask what I was thinking.

I’ve returned most years since then, (excluding 2012 & 2017) for between 1 and 3 months. Sometimes I manage to travel further afield than East Anglia. Sometimes I make it as far as France.

In June 2018 my 7th summer in 9 years begins… Mostly duo rather than solo, as my husband finally arranged some time off. Enjoy!
